Sports Massage - Level 3

This Level 3 qualification opens up the possibility of working with and providing sports massage treatments to both amateur and professional athletes and exercise participants.

Pre-requites

Candidates must be in possession of an Anatomy and Physiology for Exercise qualification or equivalent and hold a current first aid qualification.

Suitable for

Qualified Level 2 Instructors who wish to pursue a career in Sports Massage or Personal Trainers who are seeking to diversify their services to clients and increase their employment potential.

Course content

  • The clinical applications of sports massage

  • Additional anatomy and physiology specific to sports massage including the structure and function of the:
    -Skin
    -Lymphatic system
    -Neuroendocrine system

  • How to employ basic and advanced massage techniques

  • How to gather and assess information from clients to apply appropriate massage techniques

  • How to prescribe exercise to promote and maintain the benefits gained from sports massage therapy

Modular plus home study required
