Pre-requites
  • Candidates must be experienced instructors, aged 18 or over
  • Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing (Exercise to Music) or equivalent qualification recognised by the NQF or QCF
  • Candidates must also be teaching Exercise to Music classes on a regular basis
Suitable for Instructors who:
  • Would like to learn advanced training systems, advanced teaching skills and choreography design
  • Wish to pursue a career in Fitness Presenting
  • Are delivering BTS programmes and would like to teach Advanced Freestyle Exercise to Music classes
  • Are seeking Advanced Instructor status on REPs
Module content
  • Module 1: Advanced Exercise and Fitness Knowledge
  • Module 2: Advanced Cardiovascular Training (CT)
  • Module 3: Advanced Resistance Training (RT)
Duration
  • Module 1: 2 Weekends - Saturday and Sunday
  • Module 2: 3 Days - Friday, Saturday and Sunday
  • Module 3: 2 Days - Saturday and Sunday

This course is delivered by bpm active's fitness director and Power Music UK presenter Ian Baker.  Ian has presented at The International Fitness Showcase, FitCamp and Pure Energy Live.  He is a Master Trainer for Impact British Training Solutions based in the Middle East and has delivered Gym Instructors and the first CYQ Exercise to Music Course in India.  Ian brings to this new and exciting course nearly 20 years of teaching experience and over 10 years experience of delivering Central YMCA Qualifications.

Assessment
  • Module 1: Theory Exam date TBA
  • Modules 2 and 3:
    • Practical Assessment by DVD submission, which includes Session Planning and Evaluation/Viva of either a CV or RT or combined session
    • 6 Week Progressive Plan - either CV or RT or combined

Note, the practical assessment is very flexible with regard to the style and structure of the chosen session
